Utilize Isaiah McKenzie and Emmanuel Sanders in the run game

The other thing is the Buffalo Bills need to call more jet sweeps with their wide receivers. One of the few times the running game has been effective was in Week 10 against the New York Jets. The performance could be dismissed by the fact that they were just playing the Jets but they also averaged 5.8 yards per carry.

One of the big differences from that game was Isaiah McKenzie and Emmanuel Sanders combined for three carries. While this is not necessarily a lot, the threat of these wide receivers getting the ball would force defenders to take a step outside which helped open up more room in the middle when Devin Singletary, Zack Moss, or Matt Breida would get the ball.

All three of those running backs had a carry go over 10 yards against the New York Jets, which is something they have struggled to do this year. However, the Bills haven’t given a carry over the past three games to any wide receiver and the run game hasn’t been nearly as effective.

This small wrinkle in the game plan could go a long way in helping jumpstart the run game.
