Defensive Ends

The bright spot for the defensive ends was Greg Rousseau who had an excellent game with four tackles and did a good job setting the edge on that right side. However, that was really the only positive as the Patriots continued to do a good job sealing the left side that allowed them to find the corner or stretch the defenders wide enough that allowed running backs to cut back up the field.

Defensive Tackles

I will try again to highlight the bright spot at this position and that was Harrison Phillips. The former third round pick had one of his best games of the season with seven total tackles and one tackle for a loss.

He played really well on the interior of this defensive line and should have earned himself more playing time moving forward. However, when a team gives up over 200 rushing yards that are a clear indication that they did not win at the line of scrimmage and that was the case here.
