The matchup between the University of Houston and the University of Cincinnati is intriguing as there are questions about whether or not Cincinnati will be able to get into the College Football Playoffs. However, Houston is a good team in their own right and this should be a competitive game.

On the defensive side of the ball, one player to watch is cornerback Marcus Jones. He is an experienced corner who started his collegiate career at the University of Troy before transferring to Houston.

Jones has played in 43 games between the two schools and has 110 total tackles, nine interceptions, and 30 passes defended. A majority of those interceptions and passes defended have come this year when he has had five interceptions and 12 passes defended.

Marcus Jones is an interesting player because he is not that big, 5’8″ and 185 pounds, but is versatile and is described by Vinnie Iyer at The Sporting News as:

"an unique explosive ballhawk in the Tyrann Mathieu style of secondary play."

He also has experience as a returner with 69 career kickoff returns and 62 career punt returns, with nine total touchdowns on returns.
