NFL power rankings: Buffalo Bills back in the Top 10 after Week 12 win
Bleacher Report: Buffalo Bills move up two spots
Current Week’s Ranking: 6
Last Week’s Ranking: 8
Similar to the other power rankings, the Buffalo Bills are just outside the Top 5 after moving up two spots to sixth. However, Gary Davenport is concerned about Tre’Davious White’s injury and how it could derail the Buffalo Bills’ season:
"“Every team in the league has to deal with injuries,” Davenport said. “But there are injuries, and then there are season-killers. Losing the heart and soul of the AFC’s best pass defense may well be the latter.”"
The loss of Tre’Davious White can’t be understated and after Josh Allen, White may be the most important player on the Buffalo Bills. He is one of the top cornerbacks in the NFL and allows the Bills to be more flexible in their scheme knowing that White is going to go up against the opposing team’s best wide receiver and win that matchup more times than not.
The good news is that this is a veteran defense and one that has played multiple years together in the same scheme. It is going to be a challenge but this group could be up to the task in terms of keeping the defense in that top tier in the NFL.
