1. Dane Jackson

That top option is the player who replaced Tre’Davious White after he went down with his knee injury in Dane Jackson, who was a seventh round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. As a rookie last year, Jackson played well in limited action, usually in place of Levi Wallace.

In Week 2 of the 2020 season against the New York Jets, Jackson had three total tackles, one interception, and two passes defended. He got another start in Week 10 against the Arizona Cardinals and finished with eight total tackles, one pass defended, and one fumble recovery.

During the offseason, the Bills had an open competition for the second cornerback spot opposite Tre’Davious White between Levi Wallace and Dane Jackson. In the preseason, Jackson’s play was a little more up and down while Wallace was consistent and this seemingly gave the edge to the veteran.

Considering the fact that Dane Jackson has primarily served as the backup cornerback and the one on the 53-man roster active after the starters, should indicate that he is going to be the first player who gets a chance to lock down that starting job. However, if he struggles, the coaching staff is going to have plenty of options currently on the roster behind him ready to step in.
