3. Nick McCloud

Nick McCloud was also an undrafted free agent signing this offseason and followed a similar path to Griffin in that he joined the team shortly after the NFL Draft. He was released prior to the regular season and returned as a member of the practice squad.

Nick McCloud has a similar frame to Griffin in that he is also 6’0″ but is listed as having almost 20 pounds more weight at 193, which should help him at the NFL level.

McCloud also showed a little more in the preseason than Griffin as he had nine total tackles and one interception. He almost had another interception, which he returned for a touchdown, in the first preseason game against the Detroit Lions. However, it was ruled incomplete after being reviewed.

Both McCloud and Griffin are seemingly long shots to be the replacement for Tre’Davious White but again with a few months on the practice squad, either one may have shown enough to the coaching staff to warrant being added to the active roster.
