7 quick thoughts from the Buffalo Bills victory over the New Orleans Saints
Dawson Knox brings a different dimension to this offense
The development of Dawson Knox this season has been nothing short of remarkable. When the Bills drafted him in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft, he had the physical attributes to be a dynamic weapon at the tight end position but didn’t have much experience at Ole Miss.
The first two seasons were up and down and Knox never really took control of the starting job. However, this season he not only has shown he can be a big part of this offense but one of the better tight ends in the league. He had two touchdown catches against the Saints and is now tied for the league lead in receiving touchdowns among tight ends.
Gabriel Davis needs more snaps moving forward
The Buffalo Bills second-year wide receiver hasn’t been able to build off the promising rookie season by playing roughly only 38% of the offensive snaps. In the game against the Saints, he showed he can be productive and had two receptions for 47 yards.
However, what he brings to this offense goes beyond just the box score as Gabriel Davis is one of the better blocking wide receivers the Buffalo Bills have and one of the big reasons he needs to play more. A perfect example is on the second touchdown reception by Dawson Knox where Gabriel Davis drove his defender down the field and into the end zone, not allowing him to get to the Bills’ tight end before he crossed the goal line.
