Matt Breida has double-digit rushing attempts

The Buffalo Bills the past two weeks have gotten more production from their run game and this is due in large part to Matt Breida. He is a player that brings a different skill set to the position, most notably a speed element that allows him to be a threat on those outside runs, but also as a pass catcher out of the backfield.

In the past two games, he has 12 touches, 117 total yards from scrimmage, and two total touchdowns. On Wednesday, Sean McDermott said that Matt Breida has earned more opportunities and this could be a week that Breida is the primary running back.

This increase in opportunities I believe will result in Matt Breida getting double-digit rushing attempts this week against the New Orleans Saints. This is pretty uncommon for the Bills as they haven’t had a running back receive 10 or more carries in a game since Week 5 against the Kansas City Chiefs when Zack Moss had 11.

The New Orleans Saints are one of the better run defenses in the league but as has been proven in previous games, the Bills can’t just abandon the run entirely. The coaching staff should give Matt Breida a majority of the work this week and he should finish the game with 10 or more carries.
