Linebackers

The Buffalo Bills for the second straight week were without linebacker Tremaine Edmunds, who is dealing with a hamstring injury. It remains to be seen if Edmunds playing would have slowed down the Colts’ running back because A.J. Klein didn’t necessarily have a bad game.

He finished with six total tackles, one tackle for a loss, and one pass defended but was called for defensive pass interference on the same play Addison was called for roughing the passer. While there isn’t necessarily a group that can say they played really well, there was plenty that played worse than the linebackers.

Secondary

The Buffalo Bills held Carson Wentz to only 106 passing yards and one passing touchdown as he completed only 11 of 20 passes for an average of 5.3 yards per attempt. On the surface, the secondary should receive an A+ but these stats are more due to Jonathan Taylor running over them than anything this group did.

In fact, the Bills’ secondary probably hurt the defense more than anything with penalties at the worst possible times. As previously mentioned, Taron Johnson’s holding penalty negated Ed Oliver’s sack as well as Jordan Poyer being called for an unnecessary roughness a few plays earlier on the drive.
