The Buffalo Bills are entering Week 11 without key contributors on both sides of the line with starting right tackle Spencer Brown and defensive tackle Star Lotulelei still on the Reserve/COVID-19 list so they are out but not listed on the inactive list.  Lotulelei was added last Sunday and Brown was added to the list on Thursday and the Bills now have the challenge of replacing two important pieces to this team.

At defensive tackle, the Bills have more depth and this will likely mean more playing time for Harrison Phillips and Vernon Butler. The defense will certainly need big games from both as they will be tasked with slowing down Jonathan Taylor, who is tied for the league lead in rushing yards.

In addition to Lotulelei, the Buffalo Bills are going to be without starting linebacker Tremaine Edmunds for a second straight week. He was listed as questionable on Friday but this will be another chance for A.J. Klein to start.

Buffalo Bills have a challenge replacing Spencer Brown on the offensive line

The coaching staff has a little tougher challenge replacing Brown on the offensive line. He has played great this year and the offensive line as a whole has looked better because this has allowed Daryl Williams to move inside to right guard.

Two weeks ago against the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Bills have Williams at right tackle and Cody Ford at right guard. The results were disastrous and the Bills are unlikely to go back to that but there aren’t many other options.

The Bills do have Bobby Hart inactive for this game, who they signed late in the week, and was considered a potential option. If the Bills don’t want to play Ford, they could look to Ryan Bates, Tommy Doyle, or Jamil Douglas at right guard, assuming the plan is to move Daryl Williams outside to right tackle.

Among the notable actives this week, running back Matt Breida is active after a good performance last week against the New York Jets. The Bills have moved away from having only three running backs active and Breida should rotate with Devin Singletary and Zack Moss this week.
