In Week 11, the Buffalo Bills will be looking to build upon their 45-17 rout of the New York Jets last week. This week’s opponent is the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts pulled out a close 23-17 win against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 10.

After a rough 0-3 start to the season, the Colts have clawed back to .500 at 5-5. The Colts are in the ballpark of average overall, sitting at slightly above average (13th) in points scored, and slightly below average (20th) in points allowed. Indianapolis has gotten hot coming into this game, winning five of their last seven, three of those by multiple scores.

Carson Wentz has been much improved in 2021. Wentz has completed 63.5 percent of his passes for 2,378 yards, 17 touchdowns, and just three interceptions. Wentz’s reunification with Frank Reich has done wonders for both his efficiency and his ball security. Wentz has found a new number one receiver in second-year man out of USC, Michael Pittman Jr. Pittman is ninth in the NFL in receiving yards (729), 11th in receptions (55), and tied for 12th in touchdowns (5).

The star of the Colts’ offense for the last two seasons has been Jonathan Taylor. Taylor rushed for 1,169 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2020. He is on track to shatter those numbers, as he currently is tied for the league lead in rushing yards at 937 yards, and is second in the league in rushing touchdowns with nine. The Indianapolis offense is at its best when it runs through Taylor.

The Buffalo Bills’ offense rediscovered its mojo in East Rutherford last week. They scored 45 points and posted 489 yards on the Jets’ defense. Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs found the rhythm that has turned them both into two of the league’s best at their positions, connecting eight times for 162 yards and a stellar touchdown that is probably their prettiest as a duo. Finding and maintaining their rhythm has been the heart and soul of the Buffalo offense over the last two years, and will be integral to a Super Bowl run.

Meanwhile, the Buffalo Bills’ defense forced five turnovers against the Jets, all attributed to the secondary. Tre’Davious White, Taron Johnson, Levi Wallace, and Jordan Poyer all intercepted a pass from Mike White last week, while Micah Hyde forced and recovered a fumble. The Buffalo defense should be dominant again if they can hold Jonathan Taylor in check.

The Bills and Colts are talented teams who enter this game needing a win for different reasons. For the Bills, they have the New England Patriots breathing right down their necks and would lose the division lead with a loss to the Colts. The Colts, on the other hand, sit at .500, right in the heart of the wild card hunt, and a win over the Bills would be a huge help to their playoff chances.

The Bills could do some damage offensively to the Colts, but the absence of right tackle Spencer Brown has proven to be a problem for the Buffalo offense, so they will either need to double Deforest Buckner on the right side, or hope whoever starts at right tackle steps up.

Must Read. 4 bold predictions for the Buffalo Bills in Week 11. light

It would be shocking if the Bills defense were to be rolled over, even by one of the league’s best rushing offenses. If the defense can hold the Colts in check, I’m going to take Josh Allen and the Bills in a close, low-scoring game more times than not.

Final Score Prediction: Buffalo Bills 17, Indianapolis Colts 16
