Can the Buffalo Bills be effective running the ball?

Last week against the New York Jets, the Buffalo Bills finally found some success on the ground by including Matt Breida and Isaiah McKenzie more. The speed those two brought, allowed them to attack the edges and run more outside runs that helped spread the defense out.

Breida, McKenzie, Devin Singletary, Zack Moss, and Emmanuel Sanders still only combined for 20 rushing attempts but with an average of 6.39 yards per attempt, the run game was effective and enough of a threat that the defense had to account for it.

The question is can the Buffalo Bills now replicate this type of success against the Indianapolis Colts? The Jets have one of the worst run defenses in the league while the Colts are in the middle of the league against the run by allowing only 113.4 rushing yards per game.

The run game isn’t going to be a big part of this offense but if they can be effective, it opens up play action which is something that Josh Allen thrives in and really helps the passing attack.
