Buffalo Bills: MVP and other midseason awards for the 2021 season
Offensive Player of the Year – Stefon Diggs
When looking at players on the offense not named Josh Allen, the player that should win this award is wide receiver Stefon Diggs. Even though he is not on pace to have the same stats he did last year, he is still leading the Bills in receptions (56), receiving yards (750), targets (86), and tied for second in receiving touchdowns (4).
Since joining the Bills last season, Stefon Diggs has been the clear number one wide receiver and really developed into one of the top wide receivers in the NFL overall. He is a player that is an excellent route runner and is seemingly open on every play because of it.
He is a big part of this offense with at least seven or more targets in eight out of nine games this year and has only one game with less than 60 receiving yards. This past week against the Jets, Diggs had his best game of the season with eight receptions, 162 receiving yards, and a touchdown. This could be the start of a big second half of the season for the former All-Pro wide receiver.
