The Buffalo Bills need to find ways to establish the running game

The Buffalo Bills have struggled most of the year running the ball effectively. Even when the Bills are handing the ball off, it’s sometimes frustrating because they aren’t good at it. Devin Singletary leads the Bills in rushing yards but Singletary has yet to rush for more than 100 yards and has averaged just 3.3 yards per carry since the bye week.

The Jets are horrific at defending the run. They have given up 100 or more rushing yards in seven out of eight of its contests this season. Additionally, New York is giving up 4.6 yards per attempt to opponents, which ranks 27th in the league.

The way the Jets’ defense has struggled defending the run presents the perfect opportunity for the Bills to establish their dominance on the ground. Without an effective ground game to accompany an efficient passing attack, teams can continue keeping two safeties deep, virtually daring the Bills to hand the ball off.
