The Buffalo Bills got some good news on the offensive side of the ball as starting right tackle Spencer Brown and tight end Dawson Knox are both active for today’s game against the New York Jets after missing the last two games.

The return of Brown is a big boost for the offensive line and should help improve the protection for Josh Allen. This means the Bills can move Daryl Williams back inside to right guard and these two have played well next to each other this year.

Another boost for this passing attack is the return of Dawson Knox, who still leads the team in receiving touchdowns with five even though not playing the past two games. He will help put pressure on opposing defenses and expect Brian Daboll to utilize similar to the way they did earlier in the year with the success they had.

One of the topics of conversation this week was the run game and the Bills appear to be prepared to show something differently with Matt Breida active for the first time since Week 2. The veteran joins Devin Singletary and Zack Moss, who cleared the concussion protocol, in the backfield for today’s game.

Buffalo Bills defense will be missing two starters

The defensive side of the ball is a different story as the Bills will be without Tremaine Edmunds, who was ruled out Friday and Star Lotulelei, who was placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list Sunday morning. The reason Lotulelei is not listed on the inactive is he was placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list so he doesn’t count against the roster.

The absence of Lotulelei means more playing time this week for Vernon Butler and Harrison Phillips. However, it could also mean some snaps for Boogie Basham and Efe Obada, who have been inactive for most of the season, but could bring some pass rush inside from the tackle position.

Another notable inactive is Cam Lewis, who was signed from the practice squad this week. He was expected to start if Taron Johnson could not play as he also was dealing with a concussion. However, Johnson cleared the protocol and the Buffalo Bills appear to be confident in him playing the full game.
