In Week 10, the Buffalo Bills will be looking to rebound from an embarrassing 9-6 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 9. This week’s opponent is the division rival New York Jets. The Jets were handled pretty easily by the Colts on Thursday Night Football in a 45-30 loss.

Outside of two upset wins over the Tennessee Titans and the Cincinnati Bengals, the Jets have been about as bad as people expected them to be in 2021. The Jets are 27th in the NFL in points for, and dead last in points and yards allowed. Just two of their six losses have been within a score, with their worst loss certainly being a 53-14 thrashing by the New England Patriots in Week 7. The Jets are 30th in the NFL in point differential at -97.

Quarterback play has been an issue for the Jets in 2021. Rookie quarterback Zach Wilson has completed just 57.5 percent of his passes, throwing four touchdowns, nine interceptions, and a dismal 63.5 passer rating. Wilson has not been helped much by his offensive line, being sacked a whopping 19 times in six games.

Since Wilson’s injury, Mike White has provided a bit of a spark to the Jets’ offense, throwing for 414 and 398 yards in his two starts thus far. Given that Buffalo’s defense has allowed just five passing touchdowns all season, it is hard to see White having a lot of success in Week 10

The Buffalo offense was dreadful in Jacksonville last week, turning the ball over three times and putting up just six points in Sean McDermott’s most inexplicable loss as a head coach. Josh Allen was flat-out terrible last week, throwing for 264 yards on 47 attempts, two interceptions, and a fumble lost. He was not at all helped by his offensive line, all five of whom essentially served as turnstiles for the Jaguars defense to move right through and get to Allen. The Buffalo offense has to be better this week, plain and simple.

The Bills defense is still atop the league in points allowed at 14.8 per game. The NFL’s best defense allowed just 218 total yards last week and still lost. The Buffalo defense should be able to hold a Mike White led Jets passing game in check this week as well.

Final Score Prediction: Buffalo Bills 24, New York Jets 14

The Jets and Bills have a history of competitive games, and even though these two teams are on two different levels right now in terms of talent, recent results have shown that may not be as important as many would think.

The Bills need to make a statement this week and reclaim their position as the class of the AFC, but a Jets team who has had a knack for odd upsets this season may have an objection to said statement. The Bills are the better team, however, and should at the very least, leave East Rutherford with their sixth win. The Buffalo Bills will defeat the New York Jets by a score of 24-14.
