Buffalo Bills: 4 running backs to target in the 2022 NFL Draft
Jerrion Ealy, Ole Miss
Measurables: 5-9, 185 lbs.
Pro Comp: Nyheim Hines
Draft Projection: Round 2-3
Jerrion Ealy is the unique back on this list. His smaller size is a concern for some across the league, but he has a very compact build considering his height. Ealy has split time in the backfield with both Henry Parrish Jr. and Snoop Connor.
Ealy has had a solid career at Ole Miss racking up 1,905 rushing yards, 433 receiving yards, and two kickoff returns for touchdowns in only 29 games. Ealy is used all over the Ole Miss backfield as a weapon who makes things happen when he has the ball in his hand.
Although Ealy has been successful as a runner in college, he projects more as a third-down back in the NFL, whose best skill is getting the ball in open space.
As you can tell on this touchdown run Ealy had against Liberty, his breakaway speed is elite and a trait that Buffalo could really use coming out of the backfield.
Ealy is a unique talent because of his size and skillset and is two-sport athlete at Ole Miss. Ealy started for the Ole Miss baseball team as a true freshman and then missed his sophomore year after undergoing shoulder surgery.
Ealy has the chance to give the Buffalo Bills something they lack in their backfield. Ealy would give Buffalo the speed and big-play threat that they so desperately lack.
