Keaontay Ingram, USC

Measurables: 6-0, 215 lbs.

Pro Comp: Jamaal Charles

Draft Projection: Round 4-7

Keaontay Ingram is on this list because he is a later-round option who could be a steal the Bills in the 2022 draft. Suppose Zack Moss or Devin Singletary takes a vital step at the latter end of the season. In that case, Buffalo could opt to pick a more developmental player who could be a sleeper in their rookie season instead of investing a pick in the top three rounds on a running back.

Ingram would be a guy who they could target later on in the draft. Granted, that is if Ingram stays in the later rounds of the draft. Heading into this season, Ingram was not really on the draft radar of NFL teams. He started his career at Texas, where he was a part of a backfield rotation for three seasons. Ingram is a powerful runner who has also shown some excellent agility and pass-catching ability.
This season for USC, Ingram has 19 receptions for 117 yards and 139 rushing attempts for 815 yards (5.9 yards per carry) in just nine games.

Ingram has not only proved that he belongs in the NFL, but he has shown some traits that you would want in an NFL starter.

Ingram has a very similar skillset to former University of Texas and Kansas City Chiefs Jamaal Charles. His ability to be an every-down back that runs with power but can make plays as a receiver out of the backfield is one of the more unique skillsets Buffalo could find in the later rounds.

While you could argue Ingram’s skill set is similar to what the Buffalo Bills already has in the backfield with Zack Moss, his ceiling is much higher than Moss’ due to his speed. Analysts project Ingram to run in the low 4.4s, whereas Moss ran an unofficial 4.72 at the NFL combine in 2020.
