The optimism that two key starters could return on Sunday against the New York Jets continues to grow for the Buffalo Bills. On Thursday, starting right tackle Spencer Brown and tight end Dawson Knox were full participants.

Both players have missed the past two weeks after Brown injured his back working out during the bye week and Knox suffered a broken hand in the game against the Tennessee Titans. The return of Brown will be a big boost for an offensive line that has struggled to protect Josh Allen.

If Brown is able to return, the likely scenario is that Daryl Williams would return to playing right guard and Ike Boettger would remain at left guard in place of Jon Feliciano, who was placed on injured reserve last week.

For Dawson Knox, he will step back in as the starting tight end and hopefully pick up right where he left off prior to the injury. He was having a breakout season and even missing the last two weeks he still leads the team in receiving touchdowns with five.

Tremaine Edmunds misses second straight practice for the Buffalo Bills

The news wasn’t all good for the Buffalo Bills on Thursday as starting middle linebacker Tremaine Edmunds missed his second straight practice due to a hamstring injury. According to Matt Parrino, Edmunds was at practice today but on the sideline in sweatpants.

If he is not able to play Sunday, the Bills will turn to A.J. Klein to step in as the starting middle linebacker. Klein knows this defense well from his time on the Carolina Panthers with Sean McDermott however is not nearly as athletic as Edmunds.

Taron Johnson, Zack Moss limited in practice

The Buffalo Bills also have two players working through the concussion protocol with cornerback Taron Johnson and Zack Moss getting in a limited practice on Thursday. This was the second limited practice for Johnson this week but was the first one for Zack Moss after missing yesterday.

It remains to be seen if either player will be available but the Buffalo Bills did sign Cam Lewis to the active roster in case Johnson is not able to play. However, Lewis did miss Thursday’s practice due to an illness.
