The Buffalo Bills were back on the practice field as they begin moving past their loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars and focus their attention to Sunday’s game against the New York Jets. Unfortunately, the injury list is long with the most notable name being starting middle linebacker Tremaine Edmunds.
Edmunds missed Wednesday’s practice with a hamstring injury that he apparently suffered last week against the Jaguars. However, he was on the field for every snap in Week 9 and didn’t miss any time due to the injury. If he is not able to play, A.J. Klein would likely be the replacement against the Jets.
Buffalo Bills have two players concussion protocol
In addition to Edmunds, the Buffalo Bills have two players in concussion protocol with cornerback Taron Johnson and running back Zack Moss suffering the injuries against the Jaguars. Between the two, Johnson looks like he has the better chance of returning as he was limited in practice while Moss did not participate on Wednesday.
If Johnson is not able to play this week, the Bills would likely turn to Cam Lewis. He is currently on the practice squad but has played in Johnson’s place when he was not able to play.
As for Moss, this could mean more work for Devin Singletary this week or the Bills could use this as an opportunity to look at some other running backs on the roster like Matt Breida or Antonio Williams.
Dawson Knox, Spencer Brown return to practice
On Wednesday, the Buffalo Bills did get some good news as starting right tackle Spencer Brown and tight end Dawson Knox were able to return to practice on a limited basis. Both players have missed the past two weeks and the offense has not played well without them on the field.
The return of Brown would allow the Bills to move Daryl Williams back inside to right guard and this should help an offensive line that did not look good against the Jaguars.
As for Knox, he was having a breakout season prior to suffering a broken hand against the Tennessee Titans. If he is able to return this week, it will help create some balance to this passing game and hopefully help Josh Allen to get back on track.
