Defensive Tackle

The final position that the Buffalo Bills could be looking to address is at defensive tackle. The return of Star Lotulelei this season has been a big boost for this defensive line and he has been a key part of their run defense. He is under contract through next season and should be back.

However, after him is where the questions start. The Bills have three defensive tackles, Vernon Butler, Harrison Phillips, and Justin Zimmer, all set to be free agents after the season.

The front office will also have a big decision this offseason about whether or not to pick up the fifth-year option for Ed Oliver. If they don’t, then he would be a free agent after the 2022 season.

All of these questions, combined with the fact that Star Lotulelei is not likely a long-term answer at the position, could result in the Buffalo Bills focusing on this position this offseason and addressing it in the 2022 NFL Draft.
