The offensive line should be better once Spencer Brown returns but adding another offensive guard to the mix might not be a bad idea. The big name is guard David DeCastro, who had a stretch of six straight Pro Bowls before being released by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the offseason due to ankle injuries.

During the summer, he made it clear he would need to see how the surgeries went and then would make a decision if he would continue playing. It seems unlikely but it would at least be smart for general manager Brandon Beane to make the call.

A more likely option if the Bills want to upgrade at offensive guard would be Kelechi Osemele, who is a two-time Pro Bowler and has 101 career starts. He also has injury concerns and the Bills would need to ensure he is healthy and able to contribute. This past season he started five games with the Kansas City Chiefs after playing only three games with the New York Jets prior to that.

If Osemele is healthy, he would be an immediate upgrade at offensive guard and in particular as a run blocker. At one time, he was one of the best run-blocking guards in the NFL and at 6’6″ and 330 pounds would be a big addition to this offensive line.
