The Buffalo Bills are a better team than they were when they shut out the Dolphins in Week 2

When the Bills played the Dolphins earlier this season, they weren’t yet hitting on all cylinders. The team had just come off a shocking loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers and Josh Allen dispatched a pedestrian performance for 179 yards on 17 of 33 passing. The defense, however, was already in mid-season form and the Dolphins’ offensive output tells that story.

Since Week 2, the Bills have looked like a different team on offense. Following the Steelers loss, Buffalo went on a tear, dominating opponents and capping a four-game win streak in blowout fashion over the Chiefs on Sunday Night Football. Had it not been for a slip by Allen on fourth and one in Tennessee, the Bills could be looking at six straight victories.

On the other hand, the Dolphins have been abysmal. They haven’t won a game since the opener and already appear to be in for a long season. Tua looks to have found his rhythm in recent games, passing for four touchdowns against the Falcons last week for the first time in his professional career.

Even so, the Bills own the AFC East. And the Dolphins, who some picked to win the division, are already licking their wounds before the halfway point of the season. Although the Bills shut out the Dolphins in Week 2, they are a much better team today than they were just a few weeks ago.
