It has been almost 10 years since a quarterback hasn’t won the MVP award and the last player to do it was Adrian Peterson. The former Vikings running back had an impressive season in 2012 with 2,097 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns.

Well, Derrick Henry is well on his way to surpass that total with a current average of 130.7 yards per game. If he plays all 17 regular season games with that average he will finish with 2,218 rushing yards and an incredible 28 rushing touchdowns.

Similar to Trevon Diggs, it is unlikely that he keeps this pace, particularly the rushing touchdowns, but he is playing incredible football right now. If he does continue to produce like that, it would be hard to deny him the award with the historic season he would have had.
