Improving the Red Zone offense

In Week 6, this was one of the deciding factors on the outcome of the game for the Buffalo Bills. They had five trips to the red zone against the Titans but only came away with two touchdowns. The other three trips ended with two field goals and then the failed fourth down conversion at the end of the game.

This has unfortunately been an issue for most of the season for the Buffalo Bills but has been masked with how much they were winning by during their win streak. On the season, the Bills have now converted scored only 16 touchdowns on 29 trips to the red zone this season.

While the 29 trips to the red zone ranks first in the NFL through six weeks, the 55.4% conversion rate ranks 26th in the NFL. The Buffalo Bills have been one of the highest scoring offenses in the NFL and this is with their struggles in the red zone.

This is something that Brian Daboll and the offensive coaching staff can work on this week that would be an easy way to increase their points scored per game by figuring out ways to turn what would be field goals into touchdowns.
