The Buffalo Bills had two touchdowns called back due to penalties in Week 6, which were the deciding factor and not necessarily the failed fourth down attempt.

It was a failed fourth down conversion that ultimately ended the game, and the Buffalo Bills chance at a comeback. However, the Bills wouldn’t have even been in that position if it wasn’t for two penalties during the course of the game that took touchdowns off the board.

The most notable was at the beginning of that final drive for the Buffalo Bills as Isaiah McKenzie took the kickoff 101-yards for a touchdown. It was a great play by McKenzie but would be called back after Andre Smith was called for holding.

Holding penalty in second quarter cost the Buffalo Bills a touchdown

The other holding penalty happened in the second quarter with the Buffalo Bills trying a little trickery. It was first and goal from the five yard line and the Bills put Dawson Knox in motion and handed the ball off to him.

The Bills tight end was able to get around the corner and find the end zone, which would have given the Bills a 10-0 lead over the Titans. However, wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders was called for holding that backed the Bills up and took the touchdown off the board.

The Bills would have to settle for a field goal on that drive and did take a 6-0 lead. However, those four points likely would have played a factor in the second half. If the Bills had the touchdown, the Titans would have had to go for two to just tie the game up.

In that scenario, the Bills could have settled for a field goal to secure the win in Week 6.
