The Bills struggled to put pressure on Mahomes in the AFC Championship game last season. The defense sacked Mahomes just once in the contest for a loss of 0 yards. In comparison, Allen was sacked four times by the Chiefs’ defense for a grand total of 53 yards,

In the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft, Buffalo addressed the need by selecting edge rusher Gregory Rousseau. Through four games this season, he’s totaled two sacks and the Bills will need him to add to that total in Week 5.

Rousseau will likely see a lot of Chiefs RT Lucas Niang. The right tackle was selected by Kansas City in the third round of the 2020 Draft but opted out of the season. Through four games in his first campaign, Niang has seen mixed results.

The 23-year-old has taken four different penalties this season: A false start, illegal use of hands, illegal formation, and offensive holding, according to NFL Penalties. His four infractions are twice as many as any other player on his team.

If Rousseau can find some success in this matchup, the Bills should be able to get after Mahomes and make his life much tougher than it did nine months ago.
