Buffalo Bills Week 5 Injury Report: Matt Milano misses second practice
For the second straight day, starting linebacker Matt Milano misses practice and it looks like the Buffalo Bills could be without him when they face the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night.
Milano suffered a hamstring injury last week against the Houston Texans and left the game. He wasn’t able to return and did not practice yesterday as well as today.
If Matt Milano is not able to play Sunday night, this would be a big loss for a defense that is one of the best in the league this season. Milano has been making momentum shifting plays through the first four games but this week in particular, the Bills would really benefit having him on the field.
The Bills linebacker does a good job in pass coverage against tight ends and the coaching staff will need to come up for a gameplan to slow down Travis Kelce. Last year, the Buffalo Bills didn’t have Matt Milano for their regular season matchup with the Chiefs and Kelce had over 70 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Jordan Poyer, Tre’Davious White still limited
In addition to Milano, two players to watch closely is starting safety Jordan Poyer and cornerback Tre’Davious White. Both of these players for a second consecutive day were limited in practice as Poyer tries to work back from an ankle injury suffered in Week 3 and White dealing with a shoulder injury.
Buffalo Bills do get some good news
The injury report on Thursday wasn’t all bad news as the team did have some key starters ramp up their practice participation as Spencer Brown and Greg Rousseau were full participants. Rousseau did not practice at all on Wednesday due to a toe injury while Brown was limited with a knee injury.
In addition to the rookies, starting slot corner Taron Johnson was a full participant for the second straight practice after missing Week 4 due to a groin injury. His absence on this defense appears like it will be limited to only one game.
