In Week 4, the Buffalo Bills won their third game in a row when they dominated the Houston Texans 40-0 in a game where the defense took the ball away five times and manhandled rookie quarterback Davis Mills. The Bills will look to use the momentum they have built over the last three weeks to go into Arrowhead Stadium and defeat the reigning AFC champion Kansas City Chiefs.

Buffalo Bills’ All-Time Record vs Kansas City:

The Buffalo Bills are 26-23-1 all-time against the Chiefs. The Bills and Chiefs have met six times since 2013; the Chiefs have won five of those six games. The lone win for the Bills came in 2017 when they beat the Chiefs 16-10 in a game that would prove crucial to stopping an absolute free fall for the Bills during that season. The average margin of defeat in those five losses to the Chiefs has been nine points.

Last meeting between the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs

The Buffalo Bills and the Kansas City Chiefs last met in the 2021 AFC Championship Game. The Bills came out hot and led 9-0 after the first quarter before the Chiefs would dominate the rest of the game to advance to Super Bowl LV. The Kansas City defense sacked Josh Allen four times on the night.

Last week’s result for the Chiefs

In Week 4, the Chiefs would comfortably defeat the Philadelphia Eagles 42-30 to get back to .500 at 2-2. Kansas City held just a 28-23 lead in the fourth quarter, but they would go on to score the next two touchdowns to take a comfortable lead.

Patrick Mahomes completed 24 of 30 passes for 276 yards, five touchdowns, and an interception in a typically great effort from one of the league’s premier quarterback. Tyreek Hill tallied 186 yards and three touchdowns in what was a great day for him as well. The Chiefs didn’t out-gain the Eagles by much however, having just a slight 471-461 advantage.

Kansas City’s 2021 defensive woes continued in this one. They allowed 358 net passing yards against the Eagles, as well as 103 rushing yards. They were unable to force any turnovers in this game either. The Chiefs did however, sack Jalen Hurts three times.

Final Thoughts:

The Buffalo Bills have outscored their last three opponents 118-21; all 21 of those points were allowed to the Washington Football Team. The Chiefs defense meanwhile ranks 31st in the league in both points allowed and yardage which is something the Bills hopefully can take advantage of.

The Bills are second in the NFL in points scored, and sixth in total yardage. The Bills and Chiefs are currently tied for second in points scored, but Kansas City has the edge in the yardage department, placing second there as well.

Sean McDermott will be going up against his mentor, Andy Reid, for the fourth time in his career on Sunday. He will be looking to bring his 1-2 record vs Reid back to even. The result of this game will depend on if the Buffalo defense can keep its momentum and stifle the Kansas City offense. It should be a fun, competitive game.
