The Bills had a number of starters on defense miss or be limited in Wednesday’s practice

The Buffalo Bills held their first practice of the week as they begin preparation for one of the most important games on the regular season schedule. They will be taking on the Kansas City Chiefs in front of a national audience on Sunday Night Football but started the week with questions about a number of starters on defense.

The biggest concern has to be with linebacker Matt Milano, who left last week’s game against the Houston Texans with a hamstring injury, and did not practice on Wednesday. This is an injury he has dealt with at times over the past few seasons and has missed games in 2020 and 2019 due to hamstring injuries.

If Milano is not able to go, this will certainly create challenges for the defense as he does a good job in pass coverage on tight ends and the Chiefs have one of the best in the league at that position in Travis Kelce.

Update on a number of starters in the Bills’ secondary

In the secondary, the Buffalo Bills had three starters on Wednesday’s injury report with Jordan Poyer still limited due to an ankle injury that forced him to miss last week’s game. However, Taron Johnson was a full participant after missing Week 4 due to a groin injury. This is a great sign that he should be able to return this week, barring any kind of setback.

The other player on the injury report was Tre’Davious White, who was limited on Wednesday with a shoulder injury. This would be a big loss for this secondary with Tyreek Hill on the Chiefs but at this point, the injury shouldn’t be too concerning.

Two Bills’ rookies on the injury report

The Buffalo Bills also had two rookies who have become starters on Wednesday’s injury report. Defensive end Greg Rousseau is dealing with a toe injury and did not practice at all while offensive tackle Spencer Brown was limited with a knee injury.

Both players have become key parts of this team with Rousseau being the starter since almost the beginning of the season while Brown just had his first career start this past week at right tackle. If either were to miss this week’s game, this would certainly create some challenges to replace them.
