The Buffalo Bills are in control in the first half against the Houston Texans with a 13-0 lead even though the offense hasn’t been playing great. The reason is the defense has once again not giving up much of anything and has locked down the Texans’ offense with one interception and three sacks.
However, it hasn’t been all good news for the Buffalo Bills as linebacker Matt Milano left the game with a hamstring injury. The Bills announced he is doubtful to return and considering how this game has gone, it would be surprising to see him back on the field even if he could return.
The reason the injury is concerning is that hamstring injuries are something that Milano has struggled with within his career and has missed a few games over the past two seasons.
In 2019, Matt Milano missed the Week 5 matchup with the Tennessee Titans due to a hamstring injury. Then this past season, Milano suffered a hamstring injury in Week 1 against the New York Jets and missed the following game against the Miami Dolphins, according to DraftSharks.com
This would be a big loss for the Buffalo Bills
The Buffalo Bills defense has been playing well and even with Matt Milano missing most of the second quarter, they have continued to play at a high level. However, the Bills have a big matchup on the schedule next week against the Kansas City Chiefs.
If the defense had to play this game without Matt Milano it would be a big loss for this team. The veteran linebacker is one of the best at the position in pass coverage and the Buffalo Bills will be facing one of the best tight ends in the NFL in Travis Kelce.
Last year, the Bills didn’t have Matt Milano for their Week 6 matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs and Kelce had five receptions for 65 yards and two touchdowns. Hopefully, the Buffalo Bills are just being cautious with Matt Milano, knowing his injury history and who the opponent is next week, but this is something that will be a storyline leading up to next weekend’s game.
