Buffalo Bills: 3 key matchups in Week 4 against the Houston Texans
LT Laremy Tunsil vs. RDE Jerry Hughes, Mario Addison
Houston’s roster isn’t chock-full with superstars, but Laremy Tunsil is one of the best in the league at left tackle.
In each of the past two seasons, Tunsil has been named to the Pro Bowl. He has lived up to his first-round draft capital despite playing on a poor Texans squad. Through three weeks this season, Tunsil has yet to be flagged which is impressive for an offensive lineman considering how frequent holding penalties are called in today’s NFL.
It’s been a fairly quiet season for Jerry Hughes thus far, as the edge rusher hasn’t recorded a sack this season. He has totaled four QB pressures, but he hasn’t been able to wrap up the passer just yet this season.
As for Mario Addison, he has registered a sack this season, as he took down Ben Roethlisberger in Buffalo’s Week 1 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers but he hasn’t reached the QB since. Like Hughes, he also has four QB pressures.
If Tunsil has his way with Hughes and Addison, it’ll help keep the pocket clean for Mills, a 2021 third-round pick, who will need all the time he can get. If Tunsil gets thrown around by Hughes and Addison, things could get ugly fast for Houston.
