Buffalo Bills: Emmanuel Sanders catches first touchdown with Bills
The Buffalo Bills got off to an early lead thanks to a 28-yard touchdown pass from Josh Allen to Emmanuel Sanders. This was the first touchdown reception for Sanders with the Bills to give them a 7-0 lead over the Washington Football Team.
The Bills didn’t make many changes to their offense but one notable change they did make was releasing John Brown. The veteran joined the Bills in 2019 as a free agent and emerged as the team’s top receiving option.
However, injuries limited his impact in 2020 and to create some cap space they released him this offseason.
To replace Brown in this offense, the Buffalo Bills went out and signed Emmanuel Sanders, who spent last season with the New Orleans Saints. Sanders is in his 12th season in the league and spoke this week about how he isn’t so concerned about stats but rather focused on winning and ultimately win a Super Bowl.
While he may not be caring about stats on that opening drive, Emmanuel Sanders was a big part of this offense. He had two receptions for 39 yards including that impressive touchdown catch.
Buffalo Bills offense off to a fast start again
This is now the second week in a row the Buffalo Bills offense got off to a fast start with a touchdown on their opening drive. Last week, it was Devin Singletary with a big run but this week it has been Josh Allen who drove the team down the field.
The Bills almost exclusively threw the ball and Allen did a good job getting the ball out of his hands quickly and with accuracy. He was five of six for 76 yards and that touchdown to Sanders on that first drive. He also had one run for four yards.
