Up and down the lineup, there weren’t many individual matchups the Buffalo Bills lost in the team’s Week 2 rout of the Miami Dolphins.
On both sides of the football, Buffalo dominated Miami and walked away with a 35-0 victory.
Entering Week 3, the Bills return home to host the Washington Football Team. Like Buffalo, Washington also registered its first win of the 2021 season last week, a thrilling 30-29 triumph over the New York Giants on Thursday night.
At the beginning of the year, this game profiled to be a revenge game of sorts for former Bills QB, Ryan Fitzpatrick. A Week 1 hip injury suffered by the veteran gunslinger will keep him out of the contest, however, and thrust backup Taylor Heinicke into the starter’s role. Heinicke performed well in Week 2, completing 34 of 46 attempts for 336 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception.
Buffalo’s goal this upcoming Sunday will be to mirror what it accomplished against Miami. Put pressure on the QB and completely wreak havoc on the passing game.
If it wants to do that, it’ll have to start by winning the first of three crucial player duels for this upcoming week.
