Buffalo Bills: Quinton Dunbar, Damarious Randall could address need
The Buffalo Bills worked out two players this week and if signed would address a big need.
The Buffalo Bills are coming off a big 35-0 win over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday but that hasn’t stopped them from trying to find ways to improve their roster. The Bills this week worked out two defensive backs in cornerback Quinton Dunbar and safety Damarious Randall, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
The possible addition of one, or both, of these defensive backs could address a potential need for the Buffalo Bills. It would give them two veterans with starting experience that could help solidify the depth at cornerback and safety.
Buffalo Bills depth in the secondary is inexperienced
The Buffalo Bills starting secondary is an experienced group that has been playing together for a few years now. In fact, this is the third straight year the Bills entered Week 1 with Tre’Davious White, Levi Wallace, and Taron Johnson as their starting cornerbacks and Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer as their starting safeties.
There are no concerns for this group of starters however there is uncertainty in terms of depth at these positions due to inexperience. The remaining players on the Bills 53-man roster at cornerback and safety are Dane Jackson, Siran Neal, Jaquan Johnson, and Damar Hamlin.
Jackson leads this group with two career starts, while Siran Neal has one in his four year career and neither safety has a career start.
That is why a player like cornerback Quinton Dunbar (who has 31 career starts) and Damarious Randall (who has 56 career starts) could be good additions to this team. They could give the team veteran depth at both positions and with the changes to the practice squad rules, could be signed there without having to cut anyone off the 53-man roster.

The Buffalo Bills also currently have an open spot on their practice squad after the Philadelphia Eagles signed offensive lineman Jack Anderson. It would make sense that the team tries to add both players to give them veteran depth in the secondary and address one of the biggest needs on the roster.
