Buffalo Bills: Position grades from the win over the Miami Dolphins
Special Teams
It was an average week for the special teams group with the highlight for this group being a fumble recovery by Taiwain Jones right before halftime after Jaylen Waddle mishandled the punt.
Tyler Bass made all five extra points but did miss his only field goal attempt, which was a 53-yard attempt. Matt Haack had four punts against his former team with an average of 46 yards per punt. After a week where the Bills had a punt blocked, a quiet week in this part of the game is not necessarily a bad thing.

Buffalo Bills Overall Grade
The Buffalo Bills defense led the way this week with arguably one of the most dominating performances since Sean McDermott joined the team. This was his first shutout with the franchise, the Bills forced three turnovers, sacked the Dolphins quarterbacks six times and allowed just over three yards per play.
The way the defense played took a lot of pressure off the offense in this one, which is something they needed in the second quarter when Josh Allen struggled to move this team down the field with consistency.
The Buffalo Bills can’t expect to get this type of performance on a weekly basis from their defense and there is still plenty of room for improvement for a group that was viewed as a strength for this team entering the season.
