Quarterback

Josh Allen finished the game completing 17 of 33 passes for 179 passing yards with two passing touchdowns and one interception. The best way to describe Allen’s performance in Week 2 was inconsistent.

He looked good on the team’s second drive where the Bills moved the ball down the field, ending in a touchdown pass to Stefon Diggs. However after that drive, Allen struggled with his accuracy and inability to sustain drives for the first half.

In the second half, he looked a little better but he still isn’t near the level he was last season. This was a week the Bills didn’t need their star quarterback but if they want to win consistently, Josh Allen needs to play better.

Running Back

For the second straight week, Devin Singletary had a good performance that put life into this run game. He started the game off with a bang when he took a hand-off 46 yards for the first touchdown of the game.

He would finish the game with 13 carries for 86 yards with the one touchdown while adding two receptions for eight yards. Meanwhile, Zack Moss proved to be an effective short-yardage back with two tough touchdown runs in the fourth quarter.

The biggest concern, and the reason this group didn’t receive an A, was ball security once again was an issue. Both running backs had fumbles this week with Moss losing his. This is something the coaching staff needs to focus on this week in practice.

Wide Receivers/Tight Ends

The Buffalo Bills wide receivers had a good game with Stefon Diggs leading the way. He had the first touchdown pass by Allen early in the game and then in the second half made a great catch down the sideline over Xavien Howard that set up the team for their final touchdown of the day.

The Bills did a better job this week connecting on those deep passes as Emmanuel Sanders had one for 35 yards and Cole Beasley added one for 22 yards.

Dawson Knox once again continues to be the primary tight end in this offense and only had two receptions but one was a nice sliding touchdown grab in the third quarter.

Grade: B

Offensive Line

The group that showed the most improvement from last week to this week has to be the offensive line. This was a group that truly struggled against the Steelers but this week against the Dolphins did a better job protecting Josh Allen and giving him time in the pocket. He was sacked only once but was still hit eight times.

In addition, they looked a little better run blocking, especially on that long touchdown run by Devin Singletary. This is a group that hopefully can continue to get better as the season progresses.
