Damar Hamlin

In the game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Buffalo Bills had nine defensive backs active for that game. However, four of those players appeared in the game only on special teams (Siran Neal, Jaquan Johnson, Damar Hamlin, and Dane Jackson).

While Damar Hamlin played more snaps than Dane Jackson (11 vs. 5) on special teams, it would make sense that Hamlin is inactive versus Jackson. If the Bills were to make Jackson inactive, it would give them only four cornerbacks if Neal is included in that group. This would be a major concern for depth at the position if they were to lose one of their starters to injury.

However, if the Bills had an injury at the safety position they would still have Jaquan Johnson as well as Siran Neal. While Neal is listed as a cornerback, he has experience at safety and is probably a better fit for that position.

In this scenario, this would move Damar Hamlin off the active roster and is probably the player most likely to lose his spot this week with Zack Moss likely to be active.
