Taron Johnson
The Buffalo Bills starting nickel corner job doesn’t get any easier in Week 2 as he will see plenty of Jaylen Waddle in this matchup. The Dolphins drafted Jaylen Waddle in the Top 10 of the 2021 NFL Draft and he re-joins his teammate from the University of Alabama, Tua Tagovailoa.
The two picked up right where they left off in Week 1 and Waddle had four receptions for 61 yards and one touchdown against the New England Patriots. The rookie was a bright spot for an offense that was good enough to get the Dolphins the win but not necessarily great.
Even though the Dolphins are expecting to get Will Fuller back this week after he served the final game of his suspension, Jaylen Waddle is likely to remain Tagovailoa’s top target because of the familiarity they have from their college days.
This will be a big challenge for Taron Johnson and he is looking to build off a good game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. In Week 1, Johnson was targeted five times but only allowed two receptions for 38 yards.
If he is able to play well again, the Bills defense will be well on their way to another good performance to start the year.
