Buffalo Bills’ QB Josh Allen

It only seems fair to start with the most influential player on the field.

Like any successful football team, the Buffalo Bills will only go as far as Allen will take it. In Sunday’s contest, Buffalo’s quarterback slung the ball a career-high 51 times and wasn’t very effective or efficient through the air. Allen tossed for just 270 yards and one touchdown while averaging a minuscule 5.3 yards per pass attempt, the third-lowest number of the week from any QB in the NFL.

Allen also really struggled with connecting on his deep ball. Early in the game, the big-armed QB tried multiple times to force the ball downfield but overthrew the intended target each time.

It’s worth cutting him some slack as the Steelers do have one of the best defenses in the NFL, and he was under pressure for a lot of the afternoon. He was sacked three times and lost a total of 16 yards while losing one fumble in the contest.

Plain and simple, the Buffalo Bills need Allen to look more like the guy who was under center in 2020 than the guy fans at Highmark Stadium saw in Week 1.
