Since joining the Buffalo Bills, Stefon Diggs has emerged as one of the best wide receivers in the NFL. After leading the league in receptions and receiving yards last year, Diggs surpassed a career milestone with his 500th career regular season reception.

Stefon Diggs was a fifth round pick by the Minnesota Vikings in the 2015 NFL Draft. He spent the first five years of his career with the Vikings and was viewed as a good receiver but rarely included in the discussion of being one of the best at his position.

During his time with the Vikings, his best season came in 2018 when he had 102 receptions and 1,021 receiving yards.

The perception of Stefon Diggs changed last season though with the Buffalo Bills as he was utilized as that clear number one wide receiver. He was the top target for Josh Allen and the Bills quarterback would look his way early and often, especially in critical parts of the game. He would finish the year with career-highs in targets with 166 and receptions with 127.

The season he had last year earned him his first career Pro Bowl and a first-team All-Pro nomination.

Stefon Diggs remains the top playmaker for the Buffalo Bills in 2021

While the yards may not be there to open the season against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Stefon Diggs continues to be targeted heavily after catching his eighth pass in the fourth quarter, which was his 500th career reception.

Unfortunately, the Bills will need more from Diggs if they hope to come back after seeing the Pittsburgh Steelers score 20 unanswered in the second half. The Bills found themselves down 10 midway through the fourth quarter by a score of 20-10.

However, the offense found some success and answered with a field goal to cut it to one score, 20-13, on the drive that Diggs had set the career milestone.
