Devin Singletary gives the run game a boost
Another area that the Buffalo Bills wanted to improve was on the offensive side of the ball and the run game. The expectation was that Josh Allen and the passing game would be able to continue their success and the team could lean on this part of the offense.
However, they wanted to make sure the run game was at least a threat and to keep opposing teams honest. Before the game on Sunday, the Buffalo Bills made Zack Moss a surprising inactive and elected to go with Devin Singletary and Matt Breida as the primary running backs.
However, once the game started, it was Devin Singletary’s game and he had one of the best games since his rookie season. He only had 11 carries but picked up 72 yards for an average of 6.5 yards per carry. He also added three receptions for eight yards.
The third year running back looked good in preseason and that carried over to Week 1. This was a good performance against a tough defense and Singletary earned himself more work moving forward.
