Josh Allen’s rushing ability

One of the advantages that Josh Allen has, and is one of the reasons opposing defenses struggle against him, is his ability to make plays with his legs.

That has certainly been on display his first three years in the league, even if the reliance on his ability to make plays with his legs has gone down. As a rookie, Allen had 631 rushing yards, and then in 2019 that total decreased to 510 yards. This past season was by far his lowest at only 421 rushing yards.

However, this didn’t matter because of how much he developed as a passer but the one aspect that hasn’t changed is his ability to find the end zone. In three seasons, Allen has had 25 total rushing touchdowns, with no fewer than eight in any given season.

While the coaching staff would like to limit the hits Josh Allen takes, especially around the goal line, they also know how effective he is and he should continue to have close to eight rushing touchdowns every season for the next few years.
