Defense will finish in the Top 5 in sacks in 2021

One of the top priorities for Brandon Beane this offseason was to improve the pass rush for this defense. Last season, the team finished 15th in the league in sacks with only 38, which was a decrease of six from the prior year.

The Bills made it a priority to add in more talent and they did that by adding free agent Efe Obada as well as using their first and second round picks on Greg Rousseau and Boogie Basham.

If the preseason is any indication of what is to come for this defense, they are almost certainly going to be improved rushing the passer and I will go as far as to say they will finish in the Top 5 in sacks.

In three preseason games this year, the Bills were able to record eight sacks with the rookie Rousseau leading the way with two. They also were able to generate this pressure without their starters of Jerry Hughes and Mario Addison for most of the games.

This group should improve significantly and by the end of the season will be one of the top pass-rushing defenses in the league.
