This is the group that many people have projected all along at the running back position. The only surprise is the inclusion of Reggie Gilliam. Many thought the signing of Jacob Hollister at tight end spelled the end of Gilliam on the Bills. Instead, Gilliam switched back to his more natural position of fullback and has been one of the most consistent and versatile performers for Buffalo in the preseason.

Gilliam played fullback, tailback, h-back, and tight end while also being a top performer on special teams. That sort of versatility is a textbook way to make an NFL team. Gilliam proved his worth and because of that, he will make the roster. Buffalo has a nice three-man committee at running back but it will be interesting to see who is active on game day. Last season Buffalo always had at least one back inactive on game day.

Antonio Williams, Christian Wade, and Kerrith Whyte are all solid practice squad candidates.
