Jake Fromm

The final player that general manager Brandon Beane should be gauging the market with other teams is quarterback Jake Fromm. The Bills drafted Fromm in the fifth round last year but with Mitchell Trubisky on the team as the backup, and the likelihood they only keep two quarterbacks on the 53-man roster means Jake Fromm will likely be cut in the final rounds.

In that scenario, the Bills could try to bring him back on the practice squad but that doesn’t guarantee he stays with the team as any NFL team could claim him off the practice squad.

Fromm had an up and down preseason, which was his first opportunity at NFL snaps, and in the final preseason game went 10 of 16 for 87 passing yards with no passing touchdowns or interceptions. However, he did try to do his best Josh Allen impression and had a 13-yard rushing touchdown.

The Buffalo Bills would unlikely get much in return but if they know they are going to have to release him, there should be a market. NFL teams continually are looking for quarterbacks they can develop and Jake Fromm has enough intangibles that it could be intriguing for another team.
