Josh Allen completes a 40-plus yard pass

Playing in a preseason game where Allen has nothing to lose or gain, I could see the superstar quarterback taking a deep shot in the contest just to test out the ole arm.

What makes a 40-yard completion a bold prediction is the fact that Allen will only play on a handful of drives. While head coach Sean McDermott has stressed the importance of giving his starters some playing time, keeping the face of the franchise healthy for when the games actually matter is still priority number one, so the chance that we see Allen play beyond the first quarter is extremely slim.

Additionally, 40-yard passes aren’t easy to pull off. In 16 games last season, Allen completed just eight passes beyond this distance. Aaron Rodgers and Kyler Murray actually led the way in the category with 14 completions for more than 40 yards, so it’s not something you see often.

While a strong showing from Allen would be nice, ultimately, Bills fans just want to see their gunslinger enter and exit the game without any complications. Nobody is going to be drawing any conclusions from Allen regardless of how he looks against Green Bay.
