Buffalo Bills: Preseason Week 2 Team of the Week
By Theo Bachman
The Buffalo Bills wrapped up Week 2 of the preseason by routing the Chicago Bears 41-15. As is typical in a 26 point victory many Bills players shined in their roles and made key contributions to the big victory. This article will highlight one player from each position who stood out in the drubbing over the Bears.
Quarterback: Mitchell Trubisky
In Week 1 of the preseason, offensive coordinator Brian Daboll took a conservative approach with Trubisky at quarterbacks calling a lot of early-down run plays and short passes. However, in Trubisky’s return to Chicago, Daboll opened up his playbook and let Mitch throw the ball over his former team.
Trubisky was the key clog to the blowout leading the Bills offense to touchdowns on the first 4 drives of the game and leading his offense to points on 6 out of 7 drives. All in all, Mitch subbed out at halftime after putting up 34 points and throwing for 221 yards in just a half of football. Trubisky had good chemistry and timing with his receivers and appears to be more than capable of being the backup quarterback for the 2021 season.
