Josh Allen

The first player shouldn’t be surprising as all eyes will undoubtedly be on quarterback Josh Allen. This will be the first time he is taking the field this preseason after Sean McDermott confirmed starters would be playing Saturday.

The question now is how much will he play and what the play calls could look like. The coaching staff will likely want to limit the chances Allen takes a hit so it may only be a series or two for the franchise quarterback. The play calling could mirror what they did with Mitchell Trubisky in the first preseason game where it was mostly run plays and he finished with only two throws.

When the Bills do call pass plays, it will likely be quick throws that are designed to get the ball out of Josh Allen’s hands quickly. There may not be too much to take away from Josh Allen’s performance when considering these factors but it will be good to see the MVP runner up on the field Saturday.
