Injuries cost Forrest Lamp a chance to compete for starting job

The free agent signing of Forrest Lamp felt like one of those under-the-radar signings that would pay tremendous dividends. The former second round pick struggled with injuries during his time with the Los Angeles Chargers but was coming off a season where he started every game at guard.

The potential was there to be similar to the Daryl Williams from a year ago where Williams was coming off a few down years but with the Buffalo Bills bounced back and was a key part of the offensive line.

Unfortunately, that didn’t happen for Forrest Lamp because once again injuries played a factor as he had been dealing with a calf injury for most of training camp. He also was unable to play in either preseason game due to the injury.

The battle between Cody Ford and Forrest Lamp was one that I thought could be a great training camp battle knowing the level both players could play at. However, this was a training camp battle that seemed to never have a chance to get going due to the calf injury for Lamp.
